As if he didn’t have enough problems already, Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence was arrested for disorderly conduct while at Red Bud Track N Trail on the evening of July 4th, and released the following morning from the Berrien County Jail on $100 bail. Lawrence was at Red Bud Track N Trail for round six of the AMA Toyota Motocross Series when an alleged fight broke out between Lawrence and another person, ending in Lawrence’s arrest.
"

A fight? That's it?

That's what all the fuss is about? B-F-D.

That could have been something as little as some drunk makes a crack about Lawrence's g/f and a shoving match breaks out. Maybe someone gets a shiner.

Does anyone actually know FIRST HAND what went down?

It might be just a fight, but I do not know to many people that would still have a job after getting in a fight at work, possibly with a customer.

What a dumb ass.

All of you that think J-law is the second coming of hannah are about to have something in common with j-law, a sudden and shocking run in with reality.

He won a freaking lites supercross title. That does not make him the next "big thing".

This is not a sport that you want to be known as a problem child. It is too small a world.

Add in the current economic situation and there may be a lot better riders than J-law hitting the bricks looking for a ride.

J-law starting his own team is laughable.

He can't even stay out of trouble for a month when he is on a decent team and he has somebody taking care of all the details.

He would probably miss his first race as a team owner for one of the following reasons:

A. Opps, forgot to get a plane ticket
B, forgot to delagate who would bring the bail money.
C. Set race gas can out at the shop so he could bring more beer
D. Got a better offer to star as a young "chong" in a remake of "Up in smoke"
E. all of the above

J-Law + 2 years = J-who

Doesnt look good. Does YOT have to buy him out of his contract?
I would think there are certain criteria he would have to me regarding behavior on and off the track. Not following the criteria would render any chance of a but out null and void.

Just saying.

Who cares? The guy should have been walking a thin line after the rental car incident. I think he thought that #1 plate carried a little more weight than it did. I hope he gets fined for 1 year. That is the ONLY way he MIGHT learn a lesson.

I think you are the only person that actually doesn't want to see him racing. I think that most of us just agree he is a dumbass but still wish he was out there.
Don't speak for me. I'm glad he's gone. He's an embarrassment to the entire sport, especially when all the riders are supposed to be considered "athletes" at the top of their game. (which most are)

Don't get me wrong, I liked his antics when it was confined to smack talking and a bit of bump and run on the track, but all this other shit is just way, way over the top for a racer, especially an SX champ. I hope he gets at least a full year off but longer would be fine with me because I just can't see him changing his ways. When (if) he comes back, the bullshit is sure to follow.

What are your thoughts on OJ Simpson? I am sure you do not know him either, but would you let him date your daughter?

Didn't he kill someone? We are talking about a fist fight vs. Killing a wife.

I was referring to the intent on judging someone you do not know personally. The offense does not matter. YOT knows J-Law. If they felt it was time to let him go, then we have to assume they know what they were doing. They DO KNOW him! How many chances is someone suppose to get? Don't throw that he is just a kid crap at me either. There are plenty of other 16-20 year olds out there taking care of business and not acting like jackasses!!
