I turned the channel to ESPN and see that a small clip of the GP's were on the Sportscenter's Top 10. So I waited the commercial break and watched the whole top 10 and no motocross. I watched a whole extra hour of Sportscenter at 3AM to see 2.5 seconds of racing... Thanks ESPN!

Whatever happened to having the races on ESPN? I See poker, billiards, bowling, and even cheerleading. Hell, they would even show a Hot Dog eating competition! How can they show all of that over a sport as great as ours?

Some would claim it's tied to the Bush Administration. ESPN blows anyway, there are other sports channels that have far better content.

And then back to Clinton.....

Why should they broadcast something that many people obsessed with Merican SX/MX could care less about. We're the best, why bother with any thing else?

[besides I don't know where most of those countries are, can't pronounce many of the towns/cities they hold the races in or a lot of the riders names.]

sx and mx last year was on espn UK, live and undiluted in HD - was brilliant - this year so far we have SX replay a week after the race which sucks but is better than nothing (although with HD on youtube i dont need espn anymore) , I have no idea what will happen to MX although i believe Motors TV will have the AMA in addition to the GP's.... i feel ya.

They are airing a commercial in my area for ESPN with MX racers jumping over a guy sitting on some concrete steps. I find myself wondering why they chose MX as the sport they want to air in their commercials since they don't show any of the races. Maybe it's foreshadowing?

I didn't follow the sport back when it was on ESPN. How was their coverage other than the week or two of delay? Worse or better than speed?

The race coverage wasn't bad, they generally had good announcing. But you had to be a vampire or know how to set your VCR. SX and MX usually took up the 2am slot on at least a week delay.

He did but that was part of the fun. Ralph screws up constantly and he just seems like an idiot!

Art had that Bob Ueker, Harry Carry, thing going on where you never knew if he was drunk or senile.

I never thought of it that way.
Good explanation of Art.

MX won't pay ESPN as much as ESPN makes showing blliards, bowling, cheerleading, spelling bees and hot dog eating contests. That's fact. MX is big in our lives and less than puny in the world's. The last thing I want is MX back on ESPN while that's the case. They screwed with MX big time; the schedule was never stable.

This is you trying to relive what you thought was the good ole days. I thought the same thing up until 2 days ago

Broke out some old SX VCR tapes to show my son while he is on the mend and the announcing was terrible. In fact while I was watching this nestalga, the first thing I thought of was how bad the announcing was. The tracks were alot better but the announcing was terrible.

EXCEPT Jamie Little, I think Erin does fine, so no complaints but Jamie was the highlight of the broadcasting ability. Amazing since she was hired for the face of SX instead of the voice and color commintating.
