The '85 CR500 was regarded as the most powerful CR for years.

A friend of mine (Darren Williams) swung on a sidecar version in the World Sidecarcross Championship in Europe, and won the Aussie Sidecarcross Championship in '85 as the rider.

The motor had so much mumbo it was the preferred engine for sidecarcross. Until the big 800cc two stroke twins came out......

I rode an 84 CR500 on Sunday. One of a kind. The 85 was much better than the 84 of course it had liquid cooling. Depending on condition might be worth a 1G. As soon as I get the pictures from my nephew I will post them up. It's my buddies bike and he let me ride it. After he saw me turning laps on it, I think he thought it wasn't such a good idea. haha.

THE Goat Breker? Hands that looked like pizza, coming off a 24 hour race, filling in for Moates at the 2002 YROC race at Glen Helen? Moates holding out a "Let Goat Bye" pit board as Glover came around? Or just some regular old goat? Inquiring minds want to know.

I just rebuilt my 85 CR500 and it feels like a brand new machine. I like it so much that I'm putting my 86 engine in the 05 CRF450 chassis! If I only knew of the awesomeness when I was younger..... Now I actually prefer to ride my 85 over the 05. I like the gold 86 rims better than the silver 85s. I too have been offered more than $1000 for mine, especially after they've seen it in action!

And some bermblasting!
