The only thing I don't like about that is that I realize how little my '06 YZ250 is probably worth. :-(

That's cheap, you can't even get a 10 yr old clapped out 125 for that! Look at the Portland craigslist

I just sold my 07 last week for 3100, id say that's pretty good. Sad to see it go though.

Im going out to the CA/AZ border to Ehrenberg for the weekend to do some WFO desert riding and drinking to figure the bike out a little..... These bikes are STILL worth $2500 easy and could probably get 3k for it, the guy wanted 2100 I threw him 1700 and took it home with a pair of pretty new Tech 8's AND Tech 6's both in my size, Gear Bag,, Ramp, Riding Pants and Gas Jug.....it was a helluva score for sure.

I already have an 06 RM250 Ive been riding and love the shit outta it, couldnt resist picking up a second one for that cheap, looks like my 01 RM has to go now Sad I really like that bike too but I need to recoup some of the money spent ...I may just keep it and have 3 RM's ....best bikes ive ever ridden hands down and Ive been a honda guy pretty much my whole life.

I sold this 04 YZ250 a couple of years ago for $1400. It was to my cousin though.

Im so jealous. I have been searching for a clean 2004 and up rm250 for a long time know and they are either over priced or out of my driving range every time.

Yeah, I know I could've got more for it but my cousin was really wanting to get his kid into riding and it was just sitting at my house since I had another bike. I was just going to give it to them, but they pretty much demanded giving me something for it. I can still ride it when I want though. Wink

Shit, If i sell any of my 2 strokes im posting in Georgia....and ship them!! Thats a good market, around here you can pick up just about ANY last generation 2 stroke 250 for less than 2000 in good shape if you are patient and look, I have 3 RM250's all for less than $3500 in my possesion.....I also like to look out for blown up bike to rebuild.

The ultimate goal is to have a last gen CR250, KX250, and YZ250 (Aluminium or not on the YZ 02 and up)...then Ill be content Smile

I really like the RM's too. I think the last one I rode was an 04 and it did handle awesome.

If it was literally hours off the showroom floor maybe? I haven't seen any 8-year old 250s sell for more than a couple grand unless they were mint. Maybe values of 2t's have gone up a bunch since I was in the market last time.

I picked up a showroom mint 08 yz250. Not a scratch on the plastic or a boot-ware on the cases. Some old fat cop had it, don't think he ever had her in 4th gear. Anyway paid $3,000 for it. (better than 7300 for the same 2012 bike)

the 06 RM was awesome. ridden 03-08 and were all keepers.

that 04 YZ250 is arguably the best YZ ever made. The new frames suck but the sss suspension was the savior. I would buy an 04 YZ any day and any RM 04+.

Nice job Lightning. I am jealous.

When I had the 04 YZ250 as my only bike I was about to buy the newer aluminum framed YZ250.......until I rode one. I really did like my 04 better, there wasn't enough there to justify buying a new one.

Finally a feel good thread! Nice bike Lighting!

I bought an 04 RM250 new and am proud to say I still have it.
Had an 06 YZ250 for a while, didn't think much of the SSS. The RM is a keeper! Wish it was an 08 though.

Man, over 20 posts and no 2T haters. This is great!

Sad part is he said it was an 07 till I got there and found out it was an 06 ..... Not much difference anyway and I'm happy with it BTW even in the standard position the fastway pegs are so much lower than the stockers its unbelievable ... With a tall seat it will fit like a glovebec I'm 6'3"
