Lap times in the 1:30's (assuming its DRY) means they run out of tv time. So, drop the lap times by taking out the jumps. Gay.

Seems like it would be much easier and more entertaining to just bypass a section or two, if TV is in fact the issue.

Speed runs a 6 hour block of supercross (3 hours live + 3 hours repeat) so how can TV restrictions have anything to do with it? you could run 5 min laptimes and still have time to air it in 6 hours.
Live satellite time and camera crews in overtime costs big $$$$$$$$$'s. They want it kept near 3 hours.

I'm glad. With Dungey out this race, we needed something to keep the series interesting. Hopefully this shakes things up a bit today and let's a sleeper challenge RV. Maybe a Windham win. He loves the mud!

and I'm pretty sure there is a NASCAR race scheduled for after the supercross, so that could be part of it too.

Bobby & Mike make valid points, this should actually help the RACING with these conditions.

Or do you guys think DIR have control over the skies?

the way they sell the rights is right to broadcast the event, same way the NFL would do it...if it goes into OT the NFL (or in this case SX) doesn't care.
