Yeh thats right, i have followed this sport for 15 years and i have to say im am finaly fed up. Racer x injury report has over 30 guys on it. They need to do something to help stop these injuries. When nascar had a problem like this they changed everything. Thats what needs to happen here if they truly want to see racing or is it they just want to see guys crashing? Wana fix this sport ,mandate neck protection, plastic chest and spine protetection and knee braces. If everybody has to were them there will be no advantage( heat, mobility) to not wearing hem. Have very short starts( then anybody could get hole shot) wider and easier tracks, even if this means shorter lap time, then race more laps. And if all this doesnt solve problem dump the 450s. Supercross class is modified 250s and lites is stock 250. Or do nothing and continue year after year with only one main guy surviving. I know if they did this the racing would be awesome but i truly wonder if the masses even cares about that.

Riding MX bikes is dangerous regardless if it's SX or MX.

Get 2-strokes back. The 4-strokes are great and could be used Outdoors exclusively. They are just too much power in Supercross.

I agree with the 450 part, having such powerful efficient bikes is killing this sport indoors. Not just injuries but the racing itself, when you have a bike that is so fast out of the corners it just gives less opportunity to pass.

Yea I guess they could change it to slow races fuck it. The excitement of danger and risk
Is what makes this sport what it is.

Maybe they should play into the injury part of the sport during the live tv broadcast. Have a series (start to date) broken vertebrae flow chart. Show a close up Kyle Partridges sliced open foot and tell the audience that the broken C3 and C4 hurt worse, etc..
It's a huge part of the sport why not market it? According to most on this board core motocross riders are less than 1% of the tv audience. The world loves seeing/hearing about people getting destroyed. Make the first 10 minutes of the broadcast the weekly injury report so the "new" fans of the sport know how gnarly it is so they stay tuned in.

Yeah, the Lites guys NEVER, EVER, EVER get hurt, either! Fuck, they actually were healed back in the day riding 2 strokes! Hurt? Get on a 85cc 2 stroke! No power = no inuries! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that the number of injuries in SX is way out of control.
Should they make the tracks more basic?

Fuck 250f's and lites to, do you see them having problems clearing jumps, usually they are doing the same lines as a 450 and easily over jumping the triples at times.

Do you not understand when you go faster you have a higher chance of more serious injuries, 4 strokes are to quick and efficient indoors for the size of the tracks. It's time SX learned from car racing and slow things down a bit (mainly for the racing aspect of things), it's getting out of hand.

And who said a 85cc would = no injuries, stop making up bullshit.

I new the nascar comparision would come up. Let look at that a little closer. In case you dont remember a few years ago 3 racers were killed in a short few months. These Racers r going 200 mph inches apart on concrete for 3 hours. And nascar found a way to protect them. Why cant we try?

Should they make the tracks more basic?
Would more basic tracks mean higher rates of speed?
Crashing at higher rates of speed will cause serious injuries also.

Not sure what the answer is....
But let's look at how much the riders safety gear has changed over the past 20-30 years as the sport has evolved.....
I think that would be a start.
It's always going to be dangerous...but I think more emphasis on the evolution of safety gear wouldn't hurt.

The highlight reel shows Canard, Morais, and Reed all three breaking their necks, literally. It would take an entire show to update the audience on the injuries, but once that weekend is over a 10 to 15 minute segment on new injuries should be good.

I am really getting sick of this make tracks easier because too many guys are getting hurt. The tracks have already been scaled back so much in the past ten years, they dont need to get easier. I still believe that the tracks should be made harder, steeper upramps, more tight and technical, and get back to what supercross was all about. Now it is just too much of a show. Build tracks with less flow and tighter sections and slow the tracks down that way. If the tracks got any easier from what they are at the moment, it would be stadium motocross instead of supercross.

I don't know about taking it that far...
But more or less have the gear manufactures working closely with full time Doctors/Orthopedics/Specialists ect...
I'm sure it would be a spendy venture.
Design nearly Concussion proof type helmets ect...I think something like that would be a huge accomplishment and maybe not impossible.
Maybe even gear that protects the riders more and also limit's their abilities to a certain extent,I don't know.
There is a lot that could be tried....but are they willing to do it.

Yeah a start would be to stop building so many steeply banked berms for the turns which can be railed to carry more speed into sections, I'd like to see some 180 turns with little or no banking so you get more rear end tire action creating more time in the turn for passes.

Im not sure easier would equal faster cause you still got corners to slow them down. And i dont mean getting rid of triples, hell make bigger if u want to see big air, just dont put them 4 feet from the entrance/exit of corners
