Yeh thats right, i have followed this sport for 15 years and i have to say im am finaly fed up. Racer x injury report has over 30 guys on it. They need to do something to help stop these injuries. When nascar had a problem like this they changed everything. Thats what needs to happen here if they truly want to see racing or is it they just want to see guys crashing? Wana fix this sport ,mandate neck protection, plastic chest and spine protetection and knee braces. If everybody has to were them there will be no advantage( heat, mobility) to not wearing hem. Have very short starts( then anybody could get hole shot) wider and easier tracks, even if this means shorter lap time, then race more laps. And if all this doesnt solve problem dump the 450s. Supercross class is modified 250s and lites is stock 250. Or do nothing and continue year after year with only one main guy surviving. I know if they did this the racing would be awesome but i truly wonder if the masses even cares about that.

suck it
Is what makes this sport what it is.
It's a huge part of the sport why not market it? According to most on this board core motocross riders are less than 1% of the tv audience. The world loves seeing/hearing about people getting destroyed. Make the first 10 minutes of the broadcast the weekly injury report so the "new" fans of the sport know how gnarly it is so they stay tuned in.
GOOD STUFF!
A bad year for a lot of riders.
Should they make the tracks more basic?
Pit Row
Do you not understand when you go faster you have a higher chance of more serious injuries, 4 strokes are to quick and efficient indoors for the size of the tracks. It's time SX learned from car racing and slow things down a bit (mainly for the racing aspect of things), it's getting out of hand.
And who said a 85cc would = no injuries, stop making up bullshit.
Crashing at higher rates of speed will cause serious injuries also.
Not sure what the answer is....
But let's look at how much the riders safety gear has changed over the past 20-30 years as the sport has evolved.....
I think that would be a start.
It's always going to be dangerous...but I think more emphasis on the evolution of safety gear wouldn't hurt.
But more or less have the gear manufactures working closely with full time Doctors/Orthopedics/Specialists ect...
I'm sure it would be a spendy venture.
Design nearly Concussion proof type helmets ect...I think something like that would be a huge accomplishment and maybe not impossible.
Maybe even gear that protects the riders more and also limit's their abilities to a certain extent,I don't know.
There is a lot that could be tried....but are they willing to do it.
