Damn. RIP Phil.

Wasnt he trying to get back into the sport recently?

Condolences to his family and loved ones.
I thought the same thing.
Wasn't he helping Kilbarger re-start the HOT team a 2-3 years ago?

This is terrible! I had the opportunity to meet Phil at the Troy dealership way back in the day. My dad and I were checking out helmets. We must have casually bullshit for an hour about nothing. Good dude that got suckered into addiction.

Wish his family and friends the best. I just cannot understand how making a personal decision to put something into your body without a gun held to your head is a "illness" or a "disease". Were I come from we call that weakness. God Speed Phil.

I'm very sorry. Do not know much about him other than his addiction stories over the years. Did he have health issues also?

Some doctors and even some professors will tell you only sick people take drugs for a reason and these people are much smarter than those that don't know this isn't the time or place for personal beliefs/attacks. Start another thread if you want to discuss those other things.

R.I.P Flipper. Worked for the man at HOT back in 94/95. Always treated me as a member of the family. He will be missed.

You wouldn't understand unless you'd been there.Things you think you are on top of change your brain chemistry such that logic and strength are irrelevant. The fact that you can't claw your way out doesn't mean you're weak,it means you're addicted.
My sympathies to his friends and family.RIP.

Phil, EIDave and myself were trying to save the HOT team a year ago ...... Phil worked very hard on this and I saw his passion for the sport.

He will be missed ..... the sport lost a true legend.

Michael Rigdon let Phil's friends know that he had slipped into a coma on February 29, as a result of a heroin overdose. He battled until today. Alderton was, unfortunately, extremely self-destructive.
Neil Young wrote this song after one of the members of Crazy Horse overdosed.

"Needle And The Damage Done" by Neil Young

I caught you knockin'
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.

I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don't understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.

I've seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
like a settin' sun.

We don't need to dwell on the reason he died, (seriously) we need to just be respectful and send our condolences, and perhaps a memory or two that some may have of Phil.

Godspeed Phil Alderton.

Godspeed Phil Alderton.
Well said Terry.

This was one star studded line up he had back in '95.

I loved the color scheme he had on his 95 race bikes the best also. Simple. Effective. Stylish.

Mstock, we don't care if you understand or not but just keep it to yourself. I bet you have no weakness either. You won top honors for Dbag of the day. Go pound some salt you clown!
