ok so far at every round the riders have mentioned how 'slippery' the tracks are...regardless of the region we are in.
What does it take to keep a sx track 'moist'...i don't see what the problem is...
anybody have any insight?

is the dirt from a storehouse or is it fresh from an outdoor source?
Did you watch the ATL race this weekend. Malcom Stewart face planted into a jump. When they interviewed him on tv did you see how oily his skin was? It was from the lard in the dirt.

They do have to mix lime and other things in sometimes to condition it and over the years I would imagine the consistency must change.
Constant working of it during the race day, the plywood floor underneath may have moisture that comes up and then in some cases you have the evening change of temp and it's moisture changes.......Lot of factors.
One of the rounds last year got new dirt, don't remember which but there were a lot of remarks about it.
