If so, I sure would like a link. I know Tony Blazier probably owns this DVD.
Here is the trailer. Touching.

I would hope the folks that enjoy this place would have the decency and sense of fair play not participate in poaching a DVD project that myself and others spent over 2 years of our live putting together for all of you. If people are so "moto" you would think they would support filmmakers who make a living at bringing these stories to life for ALL OF YOU...but seeing threads like this just make me sick and lose all motivation to continue producing historical motocross projects for the people who appreciate what goes into to them.
And to think we are trying to do a Season Four of "The Motocross Files". Why.
Regards,
Todd
P.S. Thank you tblazier
P.S.S. OC Scottie - Really? A moderator here would participate in this? Wow.
Just sayin'...
Man, people have whiskey throttled through the whoops a few too many times or maybe it's all that 'home schoolin'.
Here is a link to a dealer that sells the DVD and help pay their employees, taxes, etc. on. Perhaps you can see your way to making a contribution for the continuation of projects like this.

(Sorry to be a dick but I'm a little pissed)
If not,you sorta shoot yourself in the foot in this day & age, because stuff does indeed get shared at a rapid rate.
People like the convenience of stuff like this at their finger tips and act on impulse.
Having to order a DVD and waiting 4 to 10 days is not the standard anymore, that is a thing of the past, just as going to the video store is.Mostly everything is available online.
With the right marketing tactics on this type of media, money can be made still and piracy of the content can be smothered out to a certain degree.
People don't care about supporting anyone's career.
What they care about is self entertainment and killing an hour or so watching something they might be interested in.
Sorry to whip a dead horse and yes, that insult was at you (sorry) but let's review again...
"Did anyone ever upload the 1980 Carlsbad USGP movie (Marty Moates story) to the internet?"
Yes a question, but sounds like some one wishing and looking to find the video and watch for free (Unless they would just willingly send us a check sort of like the honor store with the candy bars and chips you used to have at the office.)
I would consider this "condoning" unless they were doing some copyright policing and this was next on their list and in this case I would thank them. "Thank you Charles Bronson".
and then lets look at the post itself:
"If so, I sure would like a link. (condoning) "I know Tony Blazier probably owns this DVD. " (condoning and getting some one else to condone it and break the law for them)
Yeah, it takes a while to make the DVD's and we have other things we work on to pay the bills to afford to work on projects like the Carlsbad USGP and don't make any real money on. It is a labor of love of sorts and obligation to the industry we feel because people look to us to do it.
We have a very small staff and free lancers we work with.
Sorry for the insult to you and others. I take it back...A bad morning has started.
I agree. We are working on this but the main sources for streaming this stuff don't take everything pitched at them so we're left doing it ourselves and we are looking into putting all the stuff up this way too. Expensive and time consuming to set up when you have other projects to do that pay the bills.
We'll keep people posted.
Pit Row
Glad to see you guys moving in that direction.
What I think you will find is a lot of the guys that come on these boards do indeed have spare time.
That is why they are here,to kill time.
Having your media readily available for them to view would be great.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could have just replied to this thread with a link saying.
Yes it is up online at www.blahmotovids.com ,it is 9.99 for to view this video.
Or you can buy a monthly membership to our online streaming media for $xx.xx's amount.
We spent 2 years making this video and put a lot of time & cost into it and at $9.99 (or whatever price),
I think you will be satisfied. There is also a DVD collectors edition available for purchase at www.blah.com
You may have sold the original poster on it and also the others who have viewed the thread and that will view the thread.
I think only good would come from it.
Rather then have 100 guys running to torrent sites searching for it....because they feel it is something they need to see right now.
I'm not saying it is 100% solution to media piracy on this type of content, but I think it is a way to market it and might help with a percentage of the piracy on this type of stuff.
Roger D. turned us on to some people in Germany that have 10 minutes of the Beilstein, Germany 500cc race home movies that no one has ever seen. Super cool podium celebration footage of "the boys".
Hope to have finished towards end of year...need sponsors too if anyone is interested.
Tied in with the 1977 project is something we received from a guy who shot the ENTIRE 1977 Trans-Ama series along with the USGP and some select nationals on 16mm film. Over 20,000 feet of film that has never been seen either. He shot it and developed it but the AMA wouldn't let him screen it to make his money back, so he bailed and went surfing. Stuff has been in storage for 34 years. Maybe working with RacerX to do something with it.
.
BTW I have a copy and it's worth every penny. Freakin amazing. It would have been cool to see a teardown of the actual bike like T-Bond does with the works bikes.
So i'll play your game of ridiculous assumption MX-Files.
You, by not accounting for the 250,000 men and women serving overseas in one capacity or another and having a suitable shipping method are unpatriotic, and possibly a communist. Then to come on here and accuse one of them of pirating only confirms your ties to the communist party.
And the rest of you. not only do you come on here and bitch about CBS supercross coverage, but you are the FIRST people to click on it when it gets loaded up on youtube on Monday. So get off your high horses., because you are hypocritical as all hell.
I think a proper communist would believe that all things should be shared as part of the collective. And those thinking they should get things that other people produced for free seems more in line with the philosophy.
Marty Moate's daughter who was stationed in Iraq had no problem getting a dvd MAILED to her that she watched with her unit over there and they all enjoyed it.
PM me your address and I will send you one NO CHARGE to your FPO so you can do the same with your people over there. I think they might like it as well.
But what about those of us who just want to go on a website and purchase it?
Suit my needs? You try to make it sound like I am a one-off child in a wheelchair who needs a ramp into the building, when in reality there are nearly a million people with APO boxes.
I'm not interested in patronizing anyone's product who ostracizes people with APO boxes. And nice attempt at trying to look like the "good guy". I can understand you don't want your product pirated, but to ostracize someone who couldn't get ahold of the thing due to YOUR lack of shipping method awareness? That's pretty low.
Thanks much, chief.
Unless you just got shipped back within the last 13 hours since your first post then the (paraphrasing here) "I (along with 250,000 others) couldn't get it shipped to me" seems like total BS since you are in back in the States! Sheesh talk about trying to make some one look like "a good guy" and throwing out the patriotic thing to make a point. C'mon man you're not going to get many others to see your point with this logic/timeline.
It's okay. You wanted to see if it was up on the web to watch. I get it. Everyone does. But realize these are not 20 year-old races from a collection of VHS tapes (no offense tblazier). This is a lot of work and expense with little return. We had to pay ABC 5 figures just use the footage without going to jail. Heck, support your local motorcycle dealer (they can use all the help they can get) and have them order it from Impact Video (if they don't carry it already).
We're sensitive to these things. Please understand.
