weimer was there in PHX
Brayton did it at A2

I'd say that these will be there more before the year is up

just saw the "don't crash" part...i still stand by my prediction

im kinda thinking not if no chrash but hope im wrong , id like to see somebody get up there and battle , from what ive seen so far it seems like it would be wiemer to step up , or maybe a west lites guy ,on the east if they ride a 450 that would be cool

if RD starts dead last or has a mishap like 7 and 1 have already had he won't make the box...unless he takes passing lessons from Alessi...har har har

Guys like Brayton, Weimer, Windham, Millsaps etc are of course very good... but the disparity in speed between them and the very best (RV, JS, CR and RD) is enough whereby, unless they suffer a bad start or some sort of crash - beating any of them in a one on one confrontation looks unlikely. With that said I think Jake Weimer is currently the most capable outside the big 4. At least until the next generation arrives i.e Tomac, Barcia, maybe Roczen.

I know Jeremy was a level above everyone at his peak in the 90s, but it does seem like there were more guys who could potentially go out and win or at least battle the pinnacle riders. I don't think the gap between say 4th and 5th or 6th was as large back then as it is now. RV, JS, CR and RD are SO much faster than everyone else, that even with a couple of problems, they can still pick themselves up in last and go on to make the top 5 well before the last lap.

I don't think anybody but the top 4 will compete.

Weimer is a new guy this year, Broc Tickle, Millsaps....they are tough cats but the top 4 are in a class by themselves.

If i had to put money on it, this is what I would pick in May:

1 Villapoto
2 Dungey
3 Reed
4 Stewart

Weimer is following RV around the test track on a regular basis and is getting faster
every week. If one of the top 4 falters, I would expect Jake to be right there.

Brayton, Windham and Millsaps could all get hot enough to steal a position from Dungey, without him having to crash... although a bad start by the number 5 would help them immensely!

Yeah! Because Dungey is not in the same class as the other three, right?

I wouldn't (and didn't) put it like that... but in my opinion, RD seems to be just a tick off the other's pace. And I know the lap times may say otherwise, but that's my opinion based on what I've seen at the stadiums.
