Kudos to CBS..

I know they get ripped on a lot and there is still always going to be room for improvement but imo we have got two pretty solid weeks of coverage.. We've seen all four heats start to finish and with few exceptions seen all the big passes in the mains. It shows they realized there was a lot of things they can do better and are committed to at least trying to do different things to improve the coverage and that's more than can be said for a lot of networks..

Goo job THIS week. If they did every week like this one where they show both heats and highlights of the LCQ I couldn't complain about the coverage.

It is nice to read a post where somebody actually appreciates the coverage. The Emig said/didn't say this or Ralph did/didn't do this is very boring.

They have done a lot better since the first race they covered this year. Good job.

I think you mean the guys that edit the shows for the CBS/SPEED broadcast.

YES! CBS has stepped it up. I hope they have listened to the feedback, because it has been the next best thing to live. Two weeks of a good show...

It was pretty good today but it was a step back from last week. They had commercials during the main this week and they must have shown Stewarts heat crash 10 times. But, it is still way better than last years CBS coverage.

I thought the coverage was ok. I feel like a big reason they showed the Heat races was because of all the crashes. I can't stand how much they show stewart even though RV was out front, and there was a battle between dungey and brayton. (IMO) The announcing needs lots of work. Ralph Sheheen seems to not always know exactly what's going on on the track. Also hearing Emig and RC praising stewart saying how he's "The best rider coming from the back of the pack" yet he was only 5th then made a fews moves and yet the last 2 races RV came from dead last to finish on the podium and almost pass stewart. Just feeling like the announcers have some room for improvement. However, overall it was a marked improvement in terms of covering the actual racing.

We kind of got screwed here. We had the entire coverage but the quality was so poor it was like watching a webcast on dial-up. Not sure of the cause but the commercials were in HD so it was on their end. St Louis station on Direct HD. The 250s on Speed was good.

Agreed. And I thought the boys in the booth did a decent job of covering things.

One thing I would like to relate to the producer is this.

If the racing gets strung out, which obviously it has, and you're going to fall back through the pack.

Zero in on the first rider, talk about them, then zoom out and pickup the next rider showing the distance between each. One thing to be careful of here is to have a camera that's too close so they show nothing then try to pickup the next rider as they blast through the shot.

It helps us relate to the distance between riders.

Good shows as of late thanks.

It's been a lot better over the past few years. Used to be we'd have to wait one or two weeks to see any coverage, and half the time you'd end up recording women's basketball that played over the race.

I also agree they should come back to where they left off for the commercial when showing the Main. Its only about 20mins not a long race like NASCAR or anyhting. I think they can manage that.
Yes, we have to acknowledge they are doing much better showing both heats. Thanks for making the change.

I think RC meant over the course of his entire career.

Not just this one race.
