Why would a 125 class have to be 12 rounds and be on equal footing with the other mens classes? Leave that for the 250's and 450's being they are the premier classes. 125's weren't always 12 rounds.

But then again,this isn't my livelihood. Just a long time fan of the sport. My apologies...Smile

The point is, there is a market, and while I don't have any hatred or animosity towards the 4 strokes, IMHO, there is still room for the two stroke at the local/amateur level and the OEM's should act accordingly. To build a competitve 250F cost tons while a 125/250 would/could be more cost efficient over the long term. As with many others on here, I am just another person w/ an opinion...
Still, my question remains valid considering you mentioned that someone who would choose the YZ over the SX would be crazy. Even though the YZ has received very little refinements over the last few years, it's still a very capable bike. Even though I admit the SX is superior in the top end power department, I totally understand why some riders would prefer a blue bike over an orange one. Heck, you still see red, green and yellow bikes on the lines in the Youth classes, and some of them are even running up front. The fact is, bikes in general haven't changed much in the last decade, if not for suspension components (and the YZ's have received the same upgrades as the YZ-F's in that department).

Open Two Stroke Class (A/Cool is an awesome idea. If the class is a big hit and builds demand, more manufacturers might start building two strokes.

Lets support the idea....... not kick the idea.

I have at least a couple pro riders in mind that would show up to a 125 pro national race.

12 round 125 two stroke series at the national would be way cooler then the WMX, WMX is a waste of time and is going nowhere.

Sorry for hijacking the topic. I think this is a great idea. We added that class in our local series this year and it's been one of the most interesting classes to watch.
When you produce a stock 250cc 2 stroke with 8-10 more HP than the "other" 250cc 2 strokes offered... well that's about all I have to say honestly. There is a hand placement under the rear fender to lift the bike on the stand, the front forks come with on the fly adjusters on the fork, the airbox is accessible without taking off the seat, the graphics are not stickers on plastics but more infused with the plastics (brilliant by the way), smart suction gas cap that doesn't use threads, the engine compartment looks like there's a 125 in the frame (so much room you can get the spark plug out quickly with everything on the bike), v force reeds stock. Looking over that bike it is just pure racing. Everything is thought out in detail. Having looked over the 2012 250 in person the only way I'm ever buying Japanese again is if Kawi starts producing 250cc smokers. Lets not forget the Direct Injected 150cc 2013 concept they just unveiled.

We've had two classes since 1993 and I don't foresee that changing anytime soon. Any additional races added to the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross tour would just be exhibition-type races, not a "National Championship."

Ever thought about running the WMX or/and 125's on a Sunday during amateur day? The 125's would relate a lot more to the amateur AND the marketing would be geared towards the audience attending. Just ideas.
