I wouldn't want to be a privateer riding the 450 class this coming season. With only 20 riders to the main, there are going to be some paid riders watching the main events this year. Crazy how stacked it is.

1. Ryan Villopoto
2. Chad Reed
3. Ryan Dungey
4. James Stewart
5. Trey Canard
6. Andrew Short
7. Kevin Windham
8. Davi Millsaps
9. Justin Brayton
10. Nick Wey
11. Ivan Tedesco
12. Mike Alessi
13. Chris Blose
14. Brett Metcalf
15. Kyle Regal
16. Tommy Hahn
17. Kyle Chisholm
18. Josh Grant
19. Michael Byrne
20. Jake Weimer
22. Kyle Partridge
23. Broc Tickle
24. Jason Thomas
25. Matt Goerke
26. Austin Stroupe
27. Nico Izzi
28. Josh Hansen
29. Josh Hill
30. Jeff Alessi
31. Vince Friese
32. Weston Peick
33. Jimmy Albertson
34. Tyler Bowers
35. Ryan Morais

a 42 man field in sx, like nascar, would be way more fun to watch than a 20 man main!

No SX for me this year. The way I see it, your best weapon to be competitive in SX is actually train on it. Most privateers don't have access to the Factory Test tracks and can't afford to stay at expensive facilities or have their own track built. And also the reasoning in my aforementioned post above. Its just crazy stacked!

When I was making main events on a regular basis I was living in California and riding SX everyday. Flying back and forth. That helped. Now as a privateer I was driving back and forth instead, luckily to practice 1 day during the week, and being a weekend warrior at SX just doesn't cut it! I just did not belong and I readily admit that.

I am really excited to watch this year though, I am the biggest fan you will ever meet.

Well then, if you're going to make the point, at-lesst have the balls to "Call Out" the 20 that'll be in the Main...at A-1, that is...my estimate and NOT Necessarily in this order...

22. Chad Reed
5. Ryan Dungey
7. James Stewart
41. Trey Canard

Am I looking at that right...there's STILL -3- Suzukis in there?

One KTM?

4 Yamahas?

Uh, oh...WHAT does that mean?

Yup, we're back to the days of the Red Brigade(5?) and the Green Threat (7?).

Again, I could be wrong.

Thats a good list. And according to it, Hill, Izzi, Partridge, Blose, Stroupe. would have been in the LCQ battling. Dont get up to go get a $8 beer at concessions because every race is going to be good this year.

Point me to the $8 beer - they were $9.75 five years ago at San Fran. I only had two. Paid for one.

And good luck and best of health with the impending family - miss ya my brother.

Being a privateer is hardcore shit nowadays. All of those guys listed above are total beasts. I am buddy's with a couple local kids who qualified for nationals or tried to qualify this year, and they tell me that racing with those guys is complete war! Respect to anyone capable of getting into the night shows.
