Salary for a "Warranty Analyst" ?

Jurb Interview on tuesday for a Warranty Analyst position @ a big rig truck shop. Salaries that i've found online were in the mid 30's but these were in states in the midwest and oregon, wages there are alittle bit lower then here due to cost of living.

Is 35K a reasonable starting salary for a entry level position like this? Or should it be more due to my location (TriState)

On second thought. They probably have a good idea what they are going to pay for this position. With an offer you could always ask for maybe 10% more.

Basically, when a mechanic pulls a part off of a vehicle thats defective, the analyst submits what went wrong with the part to the manufacturer for documentation purposes.

So...to sum it up: An Analyst in this type of work elicts the information from the mechanic to the MFG/Engineering department.

Sounds like a cool job because I would hate to be a mechanic but like cars and bikes and such. Hope I get it...I need a new dirtbike!!

Here's something; if you don't know what the position pulls as far as a salary, you don't have a position to ask for more then what they are giving.

I am an analyst for one of the OEM's in the auto industry.

The position you are applying for sounds a little different then mine however.

I am not sure if 35K is "fair" or not without more info about the positon.

Entry level tech's were paid $13-15 per hour at the last dealer I worked for. This was in NJ.

My advice is to go on the interview, put your best foot forward and get the job offer. Negotiate from there.

Honestly, competitive is a pretty loose term in this economy in reference to wages. I could live with $15 an hour for now but anything less wouldnt be worth it IMO due to the distance of the drive.
