bradshaw's comeback race was on ESPN in 1995. back in the pre-internet days, flipping the channel to ESPN and seeing bradshaw holeshot a moto almost sent me into an epileptic seizure it was so awesome.

I thought Chad Reed winning the 2009 MX series despite not racing any motocross in the previous two years was pretty good.

Carmichael and Stewart coming off ACL surgery to have perfect seasons in MX was pretty amazing. Villopoto's season this year after his St Louis crash was a huge comeback. However, all three of those can't really be called surprising, although they are great comebacks. Doug Henry and Christophe Pourcel top my list. They were both lucky to be able to live normally again, let alone win more races and championships like they did.

I wouldn't call that luck but hard work and dedication!

I'm not 100% sure on the specifics of this story but it was something like this. Donny Schmidt had been retired for a while and decided to race Millville for fun. He holeshot a moto and finished 4th overall on the day. He was subsequently offered a factory ride. He passed on the offer saying he was going to be busy waterskiing instead.

That too, but I was talking more about their crashes. It could have been a crash where they didn't even have the opportunity to show that hard work and dedication, like David Bailey's was. But yes, after the crash, it was hard work and dedication. All three played a role in them doing what they did.

Barry Sheene. Broken femur, broken arm, a few broken ribs and several fractured vertabrae, but was back racing in seven weeks.

RV kind of makes Reed's not look so impressive. However, I'd put the final 34 minutes of moto 2 at Millville on this list.
