06 RM250 weak brakes

^ What he said. Cheapest fix is a braided stainless line, and maybe get a set a of Braking pads. Break them in properly and stop happily ever after. If you ride it for a while and still want more, spring for the oversize kit when the new pads you bought are worn out. (Hint: Run the new pads and SQUEEZE the lever harder if you have to, THEN buy the kit.) Bleed your brake every weekend if you want maximum performance. Cook that fluid and it's toast.

The brakes on these bikes weren't very good. Even with the lines bleed perfectly, they are soft. You have to go aftermarket to get the feeling you want.

You don't have to buy an oversize rotor/wave rotors. The best solution I have found is to use steel lines and a very aggressive mx/sx compound pad. Spend a little extra $ on pads and get it right the first time. When you put the new pads in, take scotch-brite and scuff the rotors so they will cut the pad seat nicely during break-in.

Also make sure when you bleed the front brake line, wire tire the brake lever to the grip and leave it sit over night in the fully squeezed position. This will allow the master cylinder to open and allow bubbles to work their way out. Release the lever in the morning and crack open the bleed valve with standard bleeding procedures a few more times.
