Patterson DNF'd moto 1 in 27th while Ashley went on for the win. I wonder if JP will line up for moto 2. Didn't she recently break her ribs at X games?

I don't know, I only saw on live timing that she was back in the pack off the start, worked her way up to somewhere in the top 3-5 pretty quickly then her status changed to "OUT".

Although, at the moment, she's laying the wood to the rest of the field in moto 2. Even if she wins moto 2 today and Ashley gets a 2nd, that will still be a 30 point lead with 4 motos to go. Anything can happen but it's a pretty comfortable lead to have.

Bad luck for Patterson. She has dominated the last two years but bike problems seem to likely have cost her this years title.

She dominated last year. Her and Ashley had great battles this year.

restarting the bike problems maybe? but the bike didn't cause her to hit the ground twice.

It's been an uphill battle for Patterson. I think she is faster but has been less consistent and when there are no other riders to really get in between those two, it makes it very easy for Fiolek.
