How do I delete an App on the Mac?
You just drag the app to the trash and that's it. It will leave some files behind in your library so if you re-install the app at a later date it will preserve your settings. For most just dragging the app to the trash is good enough. Then just right click on the trash icon and empty trash. Very simple.

If you want to get rid of related files then just use an external program called AppCleaner. Drag your application there and it will delete the associated files also. Not necessary but it makes some people feel better. Why Mac OS X doesn't include the option to delete related files and completely remove any trace of the program is beyond me.

You should be able to. Go into system preferences and click on trackpad and check your settings.

So so. Stay up late and spend hours on the computer. For a couple months it was just working on that site. Learned a lot and was fun. Oh, and I've made a whole $2.00 from Google Adsense so far. Smile

OK. I googled it and found this: http://www.ubuntu.com/ and this http://www.linux.com/. I don't get it, it seems like a comic book, but I'm talking about computer stuff like Apple and that. Thanks.

Droid is a phone but I knew what you meant. Smile Although Android (the OS) does run a Linux kernel it isn't really anything like a normal "Linux Distribution" (like Fedora, Ubuntu, etc). Everything that is presented to the user in Android is very limited crippled Java based user interface. I want a "pad" but I don't want an iPad and I don't want an Android based pad. I want one that runs a native Linux distro (like Fedora or Ubuntu). In my opinion Android really sucks as an operating system but it's "okay" for a phone. But I feel the same about about iOS.

Having said that since Android is running a Linux kernel at its core I am able to actually run a full Linux distribution on my phone, and I suppose I could do the same on an Android based pad. I have both Fedora AND Ubuntu on my phone and can boot them up simultaneously with the Android OS. Still I would rather have a pad/phone running a regular Linux distibution natively without Android installed at all so I don't have to put up with all the proprietary bullshit and advertising beg me shit.

Here's a thread on my site about how I got Fedora running on my phone:

You can't believe IOS is not the best OS for the average user? All the "extra" shit possible with a regular linux distribution is just totally worthless to the average person.

iOS is by far the best OS ever created for the average user.

Linux/Unix while it might be good is a piece of shit for most businesses as it is not compatible with a huge amount of critical software. For example, Datastage is not available via linux/unix when extracting data from a unidata database.

Linux/Unix is cool for for turds working on miniscule implementations but when dealing with global apps, not so much.

I don't work for large business. I work for HUGE business, and I can tell you with 100% certainty, Linux/unix is a very miniscule part of it.

Try working on Global implementations while using linux, and you will feel my pain.

How "HUGE" of a business are we talking? I'll guarantee you the number of HUGE businesses running their critical production systems on iOS are a drop in the bucket next to the number of HUGE businesses running their critical production operations on Linux. How much you got? Smile The only HUGE business I can imagine that you could work for that would rely on iOS would be Apple itself. Wink

iOS is for consumers. Microsoft, even with its issues, is for huge business. Everywhere I work tries to use Unix/Linux but is stymied by MSFT. Using Linux just creates issues with all the client software. MSFT is supported by all enterprise apps while Linux is supported by a small subset.

If you are talking client side yes, but if you are talking about core business operations for HUGE companies (i.e. servers not clients) iOS isn't even in the game. Hell, it's not even in the game on the client side. That's all Microsoft's in the big corporations as you just admitted. Shit we have close to 100,000 Microsoft desktops in my company but the core operations do not run on the desktop. We actually have more AIX servers (~4000) than Linux but at the rate we're replacing AIX with Linux we should have more Linux than AIX within the next couple of years. The next big thing is cloud computing. Linux excels in that arena too.

Heh heh. level's web site is running on Apache + PHP on UNIX and is sitting behind an F5 load balancer:

http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.allmaconline.com

Guess what that F5 load balancer is running? We have a bunch of those as well. I wasn't even counting Network gear that is running Linux.
