If you were a team manager for a 450 factory team, and needed a #2 guy, who would you take?

Clement Desalle

Mike Alessi

Both available for the same price, and will agree to whatever term you desire.

Who do you take and why?

Anyone have a list of what riders contracts are up this year besides Dungey, Alessi, and Short?

If I had to choose between the 2, I wouls probably take Desalle. You know Alessi isnt good at SX, but at least Desalle has a chance at doinf well at it.

Mike himself said on the Pulp MX show last week that he did not know where he will be next year until Dungey gets his deal done so everyone else's deals can get sorted out. He did say he would like to return to KTM but also talked about trying to convince Reed to hire him for Team 22.

Mike may not have the SX skills but one thing for sure is he's an anytime, anywhere racer.

IMO silly season will not get into full speed till after the Dungey announcement. That is the huge domino waiting to tip.

I'd take alessi, He can ride any surface anytime! (sand/hardpack etc) Desalle is fast but I always think about Alessi on the zook...he was fast!!!

Lets hope dungey doesnt wait too long hoping for a huge payday ( not saying he isnt worth it) and then wad him self like CP did and end up with a big fat nothing in the end!

what happens at the end of the season with Dungey? Suzuki knows he's as good as gone, could they tell him to stick it up his ass and not give him a Zook to ride at the Mxdn ?

This is the first time I can remember that (US) riders want to stay with the pumpkins. Seems they always run as quick as possible when their contract is up. Either the bikes have really improved or this shitty economy has riders despirate for any ride.

I'd like to see Alessi back on Suzuki and Desalle at KTM alongside Dungey, and Short back at Honda, and Josh Grant at Hart&Huntington.

I think that Andrew short would be better at Honda then Allesi, Id say Allesi back to suz, Short with Reed, and if reed wanted to save money and still have a good rider, he should hire Regal for outdoors only deal.. BUt then again Regal might be good fit on this new team of Brooks and McGraths..

Either way, if Dungey was to win the championship he won't be going anywhere.

I think he'll sign for next year before the nationals are over. Might be kept quite to avoid distraction to the teams. But you can bet, KTM will move to a Plan B before the end of the nationals.
