We are heading out from a hotel near the airport Saturday morning to the track. What is traffic normally like and if its bad what are the alternate routes or times to get on the road to avoid problems? Does anyone know what time the gates open?

BTW i did not see any "roll call" does that mean this is not a very well attended race?

The race is gonna be sick, the only time it gets all clustered is about 1030-1230. Everyone usually shows up at the same time. Show up early and slide right in. I believe the gates open at 830! Dont foget your program!!!

Yes they will have the busses running to and from the lot. I am not going to go again this year. 40.00 to stand out in the hot sun all day to watch most of the race on the jumbotron. I can watch the same or better coverage on TV. Beer prices are better at home too. My track will be open Sunday for anyone that wants to come and ride.

I planned on going to support the sport but I can't bring myself to bring my 10 yr old Daughter out in that heat all day. I will be doing the same as Cyg and drink the ice cold ones by the poolside while watching it from home.

Wheres your track at cyg?

BTW Raddad, take 470 west all the way to the track, should have no hang-ups.

It will be A/C temps there all day. I think the high is 75 or so. I wish I was close enough to drive there easily.

But 470 is a plate photo toll road, so there is that. Don't want that surprise bill in the mail from the rental car company..

The western part of 470 where the track is doesn't have toll. The toll road is from the airport to the southeast part of town. Coming from the airport you could take 70 to 470. The track is right by the intersection.

I hear ya man, we parked are arses on the infield where you take the tunnel through the big table top on the back section. We were on the fence and seen 70% of the track from that vantage point.

Have a great time!

I'm gonna have to disagree jmc2, the best way in is on a motorcycle from the north end of Rooney Rd. They won't let cars that way though unless you had a pass (at least in past years)... You also get the best parking and the fastest way out when you're on the bike Wink

Parking is free with a bike, you ride around the back part of the track and park right next to the entrance, much shorter walk.
