have been meaning to post this...its RC crash at Dover International Speedway on May 13, 2011. one of the fastest and most treacherous tracks on the NASCAR circuit. the truck gets loose going into the corner and then snaps back, at a track like Dover when the back end starts to point to the wall in the corner, you are just along for the ride.

the winner once again...Kyle 'Rowdy' Busch.

That Dover crash was brutal.......but it sure got him a lot of exposure and TV time! Dave Dispain asked how it compared to his MX crashes.

RC did much better this week in Charlotte.

Got to see the replay of it yesterday.. For sure a nasty wreck. RC is a tough little duck though.. he seemed fine shortly after.

lump- you had some good pretty good seats, always makes for some good action when they are coming outta 4 and it gets tight in the short-shoot heading into the tri-oval.

I've got basically the same seats at Atlanta, just on the opposited side of the flag.

Missed this first time around.

Question for you auto racing fans; how many times can a driver wreck his vehicle like solely because of driver error (his own fault and nobody touched him) and keep his job?

I wonder what RC meant by saying he was trying to forget his motocross days?

Solely on his own is not really a question that's easily answered.

In RC's crash he had a loose car which means that the back end snapped loose. RC reacted by turning right and it gripped. I don't necessarily think that one would call his crash solely a driver error.

I'd say that nearly all single car crashes are at least partially caused by an ill handling car.

About keeping his job? It really depends on a wide variety of factors but the primary one is the car owner's overall impression of the driver. It's obvious when someone is out of control.

RC is backed by Monster money and his popularity is growing....in racing circles its advertising that will keep you around for a long time...and it doesnt hurt that his speed & results are improving too.

The funny thing about a loose car is that it feels faster. It feels like you're killin it, till the guy right in front of you lifts and then your weight transfers to the front wheels, then its an E ticket.

that's because its NASCARs 3rd level series, equivalent to double-aa if you will. the tracks close off a number of seats in order to keep down trash and after race clean-up. and at Dover the seats circle the entire track with a seating capacity of 140,000.

as for wrecking and keeping a ride, that was purely a racing incident and could have happened to anybody even Kyle Busch, especially at a track like Dover. RC has showed tremendous talent in adapting to a stock car or truck...much better than say...Jacques Villeneuve or Dario Franchitti has or ever will for that matter. he has suprised the hell out of me and I've been going to races since I was 5.

as long as Monster Energy is around RC will have a ride as well, but if they go...his ability should be enough to land him another ride, IMO. or his personality.

Stand were pretty full at Charlotte but they only sell seats from about the pit entrance cone to the pit exit........if someone would have taken pictures of the crashes from the infield the stands would have been empty.

Would you pay to staff sections where there would not be a lot of spectators? Pretty smart decision IMO.
