Question for anyone that has attended Freestone National

How is the traffic getting out of this race? According to this weekend's schedule the 250F race ends at 5:40pmish. There is a 9:02pm flight out of DFW that I need to catch. That gives me about 2hrs to get from Freestone to DFW (about 100miles). In a perfect world this is no problem but can I expect a massive gridlock getting to the interstate from the track?

Does anyone have an alternate route to bypass the gridlock? Please let me know.

Thats a tough one to answer, but I would guess you wouldn't make it, unless you parked next to the front gate and ran to your car...

I'm not fron the area but I go each year and the only real traffic I've seen is waiting on the gates to open in the morning. Not really a huge turn out that I've seen, I just leave the track and take a left on 995 I think it is, and so far I've had no problem with traffic.

Even if you make it out of there fast there is so much construction around the airport you still wouldn't make it. Leave early.

I had the same situation the first year when it was still on sunday and I had to catch a flight out to Atlanta. I parked near the gate and jogged back (be careful not to get run over by one of the 1000s of golf carts and UTVs) and I made it with time to spare to an 8 something flight. All the construction at DFW is on the North side and you'll be coming at it from the south so you really should be fine, just don't stay for the speeches.

Not related to this track, but thats exactly how I get out of millville every year. I park near the gate and I'm one of the first to leave. The only way out of there is a two lane highway and if your not quick you'll be waiting for hours to get out. I cant afford that on top of a 10 hour drive home.

I've been several times and never had much problem getting out. Of course the attendance isn't that stacked at Freestone. The weather is going to be decent and the I think the turnout will be higher than the past couple of years with the level of competition.

Don't plan on rushing to the airport because the freeways will probably be patrolled heavily. I35W into Ft. Worth is--you'll take I45 and I would expect the same on that road.

DFW traffic shouldn't be too bad. You can make it. But, you may want to consider hitting the road before the final moto ends.
