Fly remedies??

Any of you guys have any home remedies that will keep flies away? I live in a rural area, and the flies right now are really bad. I google'd some stuff, but none of it has worked..Tried the bag full of water, nothing. They still swarm around my front door and backyard. I need some help!

We use mothballs placed around the house, in window sills, etc. Seems to make a difference, but the house ends up smelling like a grandma's blanket chest.

Scott there's a flytrap they sell at Home Depot, that catches more fly's than you can imagine and they have one that's reusable, cost about $5 apiece..Here it is..

Bounce fabric softener sheets in the rafters of the porch.


All the frozen custard places around here use it on their patios in the summer.

Hot sauce works good to put around the edge of your plate if they are bothering you while eating. Just drip little bits around the rim of your plate. Not sure about getting rid of them in large amounts outside. Bug zapper?
