We need sarcasm tags. The title of this thread would have been full of them!

I played online the other night/morning at about 3am, and all was good. There were only three of us in the room, but it was good. I went on this afternoon. Took a while for anyone to join me as I raced around alone for about 15 minutes, but when they did, it really filled up fast. 12 guys, 3 had microphones. The three with microphones were younger, probably between 13 and 17 years old or so. (Moms were yelling at them to do random shit around the house and shut the PS3 off, so I assume they're teenagers). Anyways, the gate didn't even drop before all three started in with racist crap. "White Power", dropping the N-bomb, just tons of shit. I turned my headset on and laid it on the couch just so I didn't have to hear them. We made it one lap it before two of three with the headsets decided to sit on top of a jump cleaning out anyone they possibly could. I was thinking I'd be able to boot them, seeing I was the "host". Unfortunately, I couldn't mute them or boot them.

I'd like THQ to incorporate some sort of booting and muting thing, much like GT5 or CoD.

I could not agree more. I hate when I am playing any online game and I cannot disable mic's.

I hate when I can't disable the mic that some assbag decides to wear while blaring music - all I hear is static.

I also wish we could boot those douches who decide that, since they're not winning, they should make sure to ruin everybody else's race too. That was terrible in Reflex - they'd either sit in the race line, or they'd go to the soft section and just totally screw it up so that you couldn't make it through clean.

you can mute players on Xbox Live, that's odd you can't on PS though.

Mute on Xbox live hardly ever works for me for some reason. Even when it does, it'll only work for one race and then never again for that player.

There were a couple of these little trolls playing last night. They were sitting perpendicular on various places on the track trying to take people out.

That was probably the same kids. Two or three line up broadside at the peak of a jump so there's no way around them clean.

I haven't come across any griefers yet but it doesn't surprise me to read that they're in Alive.
Part of any MP experience unfortunately.

MP has been great for me, though Iv'e only raced about 10 races so far. But it seems light years more stable than Reflex. With regards to the blocking issue, I would advise using the "tank" perk in one of your skill sets. This should help you greatly resist any disruptive contact.

Came across some lag last night, i think it was the guys that were playing though, tried to go into a different room but kept getting put in a room with ONE racer who was just sitting at the gate, there were about 5 people waiting for the race to finish but this guy wouldn't move from the gate, is there a time limit for a complete race? Because it kept putting me in this room whenever i searched for a race, pretty frustrating.

Then ran a private room with a few of us and it was smooth as silk.

I've found my online experience similar to Reflex. Private rooms seem to be good but public rooms suck. Apart from the little trolls already mentioned the Playstation network is still a joke. Like Tobz I tried getting in public rooms only to find one person sitting at the start gate. And every time I tried to get in a room it kept putting me in the same room. I've also been in races that have frozen, stopped after one lap, have been in a race by myself waiting for 15 minutes for people to join, and the lag has been terrible.

Peely what's your gamer tag bro? I'm getting an XBox. I've had enough of this shit.

I had the same problem the past few nights, join a promx room and one guy sitting on the gate and 8 people joining and exiting the room hoping to get a race going. That needs a patch.

BTW, i'm "fastrog" on the ps3 add me so I can see how bad everyone is smoking my lap times in the game. I haven't played online since MCM2

I haven't found a race online from day one. Every time I go online I'm alone at the track. It's like I showed up at the wrong track on the wrong weekend or something. I with there was a lobby to choose where you wanted to go instead of the game putting you at the track.
