Trips photo of Broc Hepler, got me thinkin how can you really tell if it's a 450 or a 250 from side or front? They look damn near identical.

Which one is the 450 top or bottom?

The top one !

Hepler was on a 450, I talked to him, and like GuyB said, it sounds like a 450

My guess is the top one, although I can't see that many differences.

The top one is the 450, but him chopping the exhaust on the 250f down threw me for a loop.

With them putting on the black number plate backgrounds, I would have ASSumed it was a 250F he was riding.......

top is the 450 the clue is the slight leaning forward of the motor to lower the CoG and that feature can be seen on the 250F!

Nice catch, that would've gave it away for sure. But in the pic trip posted how would anyone know it's a 450? How did you know the top was a 450? What was the telling difference?

The motor, the head from the 250 and 450 are different. Also the skid plate mounts, the 450 doesnt have them.

look at the tires on heps bike a 120/100 on the rear and the front 100/90. Only guessing, but they look lower profile and wider. A 250F doesn't need that much rubber up front

That's the way I could tell. If you look at the spark plug in relation to the hole in the shroud you can see the motor in the bottom pick is tilted forward a little which is the 250.

Theyre both 450s...If you can see, they both have the 08 yamaha shorty pipe and the 250 doesnt have it...
