...for a rider like Ken Roczen?

I know the factory Suzuki 450 has a good rep today, but what happens when the the other brands move ahead technically next season, will it be good enough then?

And no offense to RC or Kenny Watson, but I doubt they are going to be over at the Suzuki race shop at 8 AM on a monday after the race grinding parts on a Lathe like Decoster and Ian Harrison do for KTM to make the bike better.

My point is that DeCoster is a huge reason KTM has become the bike it is now, and I just don't see that kind of dedication to improving the motorcycle coming from RCH or cash- strapped Suzuki Corporate next near.

Right now I think KTM has the drive to be world number one, and will do whatever it takes to get there.

I just don't see that right now from Suzuki or RCH.

Suzuki makes a great bike. If roczen's didn't think so he wouldn't go to RCH simple as that.

Ya thats always been RCs achilles heel, lack of drive, commitment to winning. I think you may be right.

If Peick can consistently put RCH bikes in 5th-10th finishes; I think Kenny will still be podium shoe-in every week. I definitely agree that KTM is on a quest for world domination; but me thinks Aldon Baker has had a bigger impact on KR94's recent success than the team's engineering has. Just my 2cents..

seems RCH just needs someone to " grind parts on a lathe " and they should be good to go....

I should apply for that position. I can grind all sorts of parts on my lathe. Whistling

For a few reasons (RCH not being the least)If Roczen does switch I don't think he will have the same success as he has had this year. I see his results more like the previous years.

Did anyone think the Rockstar team, when they were running Suzukis, were going to be good enough to give Millsaps that many wins? I for one certainly did not.

The RCH team seems to get better each and every season. Might be time for a top guy to push them to do even better. Fighting for a number one slot versus a top 5 will tend to bring out the best in people.

That said, I like seeing Roczen on the orange bike.

Okay

(1) No 250 development team;

(2) Let DeCoster go over money;

(3) When executives from Japan visited US Suzuki in Brea a few years ago, DeCoster sent the team big rigs into the desert so the Japanese wouldn't see them and ask about spending.

(4) using substandard OEM parts on the production bikes.

There is more but Im not going to risk a friendship.

Only Kenny knows for sure why he is leaving a successful team, for a new one, I guess we will see how it plays out.

Maybe Kenny...(in my opinion)
dosent like....
Stephen Everts telling people that Herlings is better...
DeCoster....
KTM's....
Who knows....it is his business...
last year, it was career suicide to sign to ride KTM's...now its career suicide to leave KTM...go figure...

If Kenny doesn't run as good next year, you know what everyone will say... I am definitely a Roczen fan, not a Suzuki fan. Next year is going to be rough...

I am still crying in my Cheerios that he isn't going to ride a KX.

It's definitely an interesting move. RCH has not had a top guy who expects to win each weekend and contend for the championship. I like all the guys over there and think they'll pull it off -- but I hope there is no learning curve and occasional mechanical failures, because that'll suck big for K-roc.

I am pretty sure KR will be just fine with RC and Carey Hart.

If you guys think that Suzuki won't be heavily involved with this endeavor then you are hopped up on some serious goof balls!

It doesn't matter what kind of bike these guys are on, when you are on it, you are on it that's the bottom line! Add to that a team atmosphere (my perception) more attractive to a young fun loving kid from Germany living his dream in America it's a no brainer really!

I think both the team and Kenny have a lot on the line next year. The team has never had the resources or rider to realistically compete for a title and next year will the the first year when Kenny is "expected" to win. Both parties have a ton invested in the deal and the pressure on both sides will be off the charts. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

They have factory support, good industry sponsors, Red Bull money, experienced staff, and they have Ricky who will do whatever it takes to win.

What's not to like?

He's going to tear it up next year.

Next year Roczen is joining the RCH program and there just won't be as many KTM wins as there are now. Unless you've had your head in the sand you can see that Kenny is poised to be the next champion, indoors and out, so expect to see RC, Cary Hart and Kenny spraying lots of champagne in 2015.

i'm on the "Kenny will win no matter what color bike he's on" train

i just hope his bike is close to as dialed as his KTM... that thing looks like it's on rails out there

Yes. They have plenty of quality staff in place to take care of whoever's on the team next year.

I remember thinking the same thing when Ricky made the switch to Suzuki...WTF? He's going to ride those POS's??? Didn't he break a clutch or something in his very first formal ride on them? History says they got things figured out okay... Whistling

It might be easy to confuse the bikes on the showroom floors with the ones out on the National tracks.
From a recent Chaparral ad:
2014 450's
Honda $7,878
Yamaha $6,490
Kawasaki $5,999
Suzuki.... $4,799
Looks like they are having a tough time giving them away! (Even at that price I would not tough one with a ten foot pole! Seems I am not alone)
Maybe the production bikes are not "good enough," but the factory bikes and teams have proven to be in the past. Will be interesting to watch it play out...
