Eli Tomac on: Shock, Lawrence | Interview

Eli Tomac of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing–for now at least–secured another second position at the third round of the 2025 Pro Motocross season, round 20 of the SMX World Championship. Tomac was third in moto one; a result that even he described as fortunate. A shock change turned his fortunes around in the second moto, however, and he was making a run at Honda HRC Progressive's Jett Lawrence when he fell in a similar manner to the way that he did at Hangtown.

Tomac was frustrated by the mistake–especially as the shock change was meant to help in his turns–and was left to limp across the line in a distant second. 3-2 scores were good enough for second overall on the day and helped him take second in the 450MX championship, but he now faces a deficit of 25 points to his foe.
