Ricoò is the brainchild of Italian designer Fabrizio Ricupito, who early in his career has worked on products as diverse as furniture, electrical appliances, glasswear and kitchens. As he progressed, he began working on more sporting goods, on everything from helmets, gloves and technical wear in skiing, cycling, and motorcycles. He's worked with Vertemati on the design of their '09 250 (with a reversed intake and exhaust), and during the same year he began his own brand of motocross apparel, Ricoò.
Fabrizio has long had a passion for motocross, and he's worked hard to create a lineup that features a mix of technical solutions, high quality materials, and unique design, and made in Italy.
The TH01 line features pants with knee protection courtesy of a fabric that contains Kevlar, and air vents designed to avoid water and mud from entering. Spandex panels inside the thighs and along the calves add ease of movement, and a pair of Velcro straps at the waist ensure good fit in the wiast, as does the elastic panel across the back of the hips. You can choose from white/red, white/light blue, black-green, black/yellow and the most recent addition, white/black/red.
The TH01 jerseys feature 100 percent polyester, for excellent breathability and ventilation, and unique graphics that won't blend in with the crowd. The gloves have rubber apliques on the back for added ventilationa and protection, and mesh fabrick on the back and along the side of the fingers also aid cooling. Silicone strips add grip.
The 100 percent polyester TG and 4P jerseys. Pick from light blue, white, orange, red, yellow, violet, blue and white/red/blue, and there's a new green and pink jersey in the 4P group. The TG design features a checkered graphic, which also features a mesh fabric on the back for maximum cooling.
The V9 pants have a retro look, and feature leather on the knee protection, and a unique air vent located above the knee that allows you to open and close them as needed. They've also got the same great flexibility and fit adjusters, and you can pick from three monochrome versions of the pant, in blue, black, or red, as well as a red/white/blue version. There are eight jerseys and five gloves in the line, and you can mix and match to come up with the color combo that's perfect for you.
While it's not as handy this time of year, Ricoò also offers a winter line of gear, dubbed the Winter V9i, which is designed for a the cooler temps from 40-60 degrees, and features a vest and gloves more suited for the cooler weather.
