21-23 crf450 backfire screen

Has anyone removed the backfire screen in the stock air box set up, is it worth it? Looks like it’s just one screw to remove the screen.

I've removed it on my 21, 22 and 23 crf450, definitely helped a lot with air flow.  One issue though is if the filter gets dirty it can get sucked right into the air boot because there is nothing stopping it.  What I've done now is remove the mesh off the screen and then reinstalled it to prevent the air filter from getting sucked in.
