Does anyone have the link to the 2023 YZ450F Quick Release seat mod that replaced the standard Dzus fastener?...I could have swore I saw the post on these forums and the post had an entire write up on it including the link to the quick latch hood pin that was used off amazon?
I used the forum search function every which way possible and had no luck locating the post. Appreciate any help locating it.

That looks slick! A friend wants me to do this mod on his YZ450F. (I'm the mechanic, he is not. Hahaha.) I get how the post is installed but does that button need to have the seat drilled out or anything like that?

FWYT, I just finished with this and these are my take-aways. The quick release latch bolt that you install is pretty long. So you will need to drill a hole for the backside of the bolt to fit through the stock Dzus fastener holder. The plastic holder that holds the stock Dzus fastener nut is angled. So if you're OCD like I am you will need to fabricate a collar that has about a 45 degree angle so when you torque the latch bolt down it actually sits flush with where the button will ride. The setup the guy posted in the video works. But it turned into a bit of a adjustment game as far as tightening everything and testing the seat fitment then removing it and trying again. To get everything working nicely it takes a bit of work but its not super difficult.
And to answer your original question. Yes, the original fuel cap seat needs to be modified. I took a dremel and cut slits in the stock aluminum collar that is installed for the Dzus fastener. That way I could crush it with a pair of pliers and pull it through the hole. Once removed I took the button I was installing and traced a circle around how big I needed it. Then put a small sanding wheel on the dremel and proceeded to make the hole big enough to insert the new button.
