I just picked up a 22 tc 250. Has 4.2 hours on it. The previous owner installed a full rekluse auto clutch and a fmf pipe and silencer. It starts just fine, but then I go to ride it and it has no power, like maybe a little low end like right off the bottom but to power when you rev it out. Almost thinking that maybe the power valve isn’t opening at all? Or maybe the clutch is dragging? I didn’t install the clutch so I have no idea. It also has this weird knock that you can feel, it’s not consistent it knocks. Any one have any idea of what I can check?
thanks

Does it have Rekluse slave? If so, maybe out of proper adjustment

You can check the PV by removing the left cylinder cover and revving the bike.  Should be able to observe operation relative to rpm through the entire range of operation.

I’d also back the PV adjustment all the way open and count the turns to see where it is set.  Stock is usually about 3 turns in from full out.  Just want to make sure someone didn’t crank it all the way in or something weird.

Also, the stock jetting is pretty atrocious and it might just be loading up and not revving out clean.

If it was me I’d start by removing the recluse.

It does have a slave, I don’t have the manual so I’ll have to YouTube how to check it.

I’ll check the PV, I have rode a lot of 2 strokes this didn’t feel like jetting but I’ll definitely look at what’s in it. It had no power up top, not even enough to pick the front up at all. Like roll the throttle on and it felt like it hit a wall.

Always test ride before you buy.

I have a 2021 Tc250 and I am having a similair problem I think. And I checked and the power valve is not opening all the way. However it does not seem to be a problem with the power valve itself because I checked all of the components and they are all working, so it has to be something else. Also something to not is that the bike sounds different when it runs. This all started when I landed a hump pretty hard at my local track.

Power valves not moving at all. Checked the adjuster too it’s fine. The power valve just doesn’t move when I start it and rev it up. Do you know any tricks to get it unstuck?

Either the mechanism and linkage are not trying to move it or they are trying to move it but it’s too stuck with carbon buildup.
You can remove the pipe and right side cylinder cover, disconnect the linkage ball joint and then try to rotate the PV manually.  That should help determine if the valves themselves are gunked with carbon. If they are, you’ll be removing the cylinder and disassembling and cleaning everything.
What 2 stroke oil and ratio are you using?
