I have a 350SXF and installing a new stator for a headlight would just be a pain. I was looking for alternatives for just a couple hour ride at night. I was looking at the Tusk Helmet light kit and have heard good reviews for it. Does anyone have any recommendations for lighting or any reviews on the tusk helmet light kit and if it would be sufficient enough without a headlight? Thanks, in advance.
I used a stock headlight with the tusk helmet light and an Acerbis LED headlight with the tusk helmet light.
led headlight and tusk was awesome. I rode with some buddies who went all out on the headlight and for the price I don’t think it’s worth it. The tusk works great! Maybe try one on your helmet and one on your handlebars
Single or double helmet light?
Just single helmet light. It worked great and battery life wasn’t an issue
I went with an all TASK Racing set up. Look similar to Tusk. Great customer service, smaller company that sponsors races ect.
I run two helmet lights in micky mouse position and the 12" light bar with fork mount, battery powered. I went with the battery powered light bar because I run different bikes often enough. I don't leave it mounted, just put it on when I know we are night riding.
On normal rides that might run late I just pack a mountain lab engineering bar mount light. Keep it in my bag and have it just in case I need to ride out in the dark.
The Shop
I use the ruby 5 on my 500 and the Brightside Bike Helmet Light from Amazon.
