Although it is a level below the USA, team Canada faced the exact scenario in 2022, and in my opinion they made the wrong decision.
Tyler Medaglia was chosen over Jess Pettis due to racing the whole series, but by the time MXDN came around Tyler was riding very injured and well off of his normal "race pace"
Jess Pettis meanwhile was recovered from injury and was nearly back up to speed.
Its well know that Jess Pettis and Eli Tomac's ceilings are much higher than that of Medaglia and Plessinger. The original pick made somewhat at the time, but not if they're going in injured.
If they are serious about winning, USA has to make the call, they have to take out AP and put ET in.
Agree with your as assessment, I wonder if Eli would take the spot...
Unfortunately even if AP backed out, and Tomac was interested, Star just doesn’t have the budget to send him
Tyler stepped down to give the Open class spot to Wright for two reasons.
1- He knows Dylan is the better option.
2- His son is racing the 65cc Yamaha Blu Cru challenge, so not racing the MXoN will allow him to focus on his son.
Not sure why it's all on Star? Yamaha could step up. After all it is the factory Yamaha team.
The Shop
Haha
But if ET3 took AP7's spot does that mean HD38 is back in play?
Lol....... Oh wait what's that, my surgeon is double booked and has to push my surgery back 2 weeks.....
(Sorry, I couldn't resist)
