Experiences with Gaerne Fastback Endurance

Does anyone have experience with these boots? What is your overall impression? How do they compare to sg12s?

I am currently in last gen tech 7s and looking to make the switch to Gaerne because I can get a deal. I am a vet rider so protection is important, but I am also not doing anything crazy on the bike.

I appreciate any info you can provide.

Tech7, good all-rounder for MX & enduro. Solid protection with pivot system, comfy flex zones, but soles wear quicker under heavy use and harder to replace than below. less extreme protection than SG12.

Fastback Endurance is Enduro-oriented. More comfort for long days, decent ankle support with wrap-around pivot, easy to change soles if you need to, less extreme protection than SG12, cheaper too. it is considered the Tech7 equivalent, in my opinion more durable and when used and abused you can pretty much replace everyting on the boot for scraps.

SG12, is the tank. Dual pivot system, max shin/ankle protection, super durable. Heavier, stiffer, pricier, longer break-in, SG22 is lighter i would say the same protection but less break-in time and a little lower on the toe box.

Bottom line:

Want comfort, probably most bang for the buck and more towards endurance riding: Fastback

Want balance MX/Enduro: Tech7

Want max protection, hardcore MX: SG12 and SG22
