Couple of stories Shorty shared this weekend...

Since a lot of us are pulling for Andrew to recover from his terrible injury, I thought I would share a couple of stories about him and his 12 year old son Hudson from this weekend. 

Andrew was the guest speaker at the FCA VIP Experience this weekend in Houston. Feld allows about 150 guest of FCA to come into the stadium before its open to the public to watch the rider track walk and listen to the riders meeting and chapel service. After the chapel service they escort us to a private room and we get to have a special guest speak to us and do a Q&A session. 

I was talking to Andrew earlier and he said that when Hudson has been watching SX on TV he says he can clear the finishline double on his 85. Andrew told him that it looks a lot different on TV than it is in person. Turns out Hudson has never been on the track walk to Andrew got him on the track walk for the first time in Houston. Along with interviewing Andrew at the FCA VIP Experience I brought Hudson up. He had just finished the track walk so I asked him, "Now that you have seen the finishline double in person do you still think you can clear it on your 85?" With a little grin on his face he shook his head up and down and said, "yes." Later Andrew said it didn't help that Eli told Hudson he could do it!

In the Q&A session Andrew described himself as a "Bad Moto Dad". He said he doesn't push Hudson to be better or faster. He wants him to want that for himself and learn to push himself towards his goals. 

We have a lot of good guys in our sport and Shorty might be the leader of the pack in that category.
