I purchased a vortex ecu with twisted development maps for my 21 kx450. Ive set the tps but the bike tends to pop on decel aswell when i slightly open the throttle the bike pops a bit. Ive tried running my fmf system aswell as the stock exhaust but its still the same. When i put my stock ecu back on. Theres no pop and bike runs cleaner. Im running ron98 which is equivalent to 91/92 pump gas in America. Could any maybe suggest what way i should adjust the fuel trims? Thanks Jack

Where are your trim adjusters currently set? They should be at 5 to start out. It sounds like you might be a little bit lean. If the trim adjusters are at 5 I would move the low trim to 6 and try it. Increasing will richen it up. If they are not at 5 to start with, move all of them to 5 and try it. You can also contact Jamie at twisted and he should be able to help you out.

Are you in the right map on the EcU with the 10x dial?

I’d call Twisted for on Monday AM and I’m sure they can point you in the right direction.

Im at 5,5,5 on the fuel trims. Im on map 2. On the map sheet map one is the best map and says if decel pop, use map 2 as theres more fuel added at off throttle. Ill try going out on the low fuel trim to richen it up. Ill also email twisted.

Is it mapped for pump gas? Cause typically when Twisted maps them they are set up for T4 or Pro6

Maybe that could be it. I did tell them id be using ron98 fuel which is what it says to use on the map sheet they gave me.

I don’t think it will work here in australia because of the different in fuel quality. I tried vp100 roo race gas which is equivalent to your t4 but it still doesn’t run clean. I emailed twisted and im still waiting to here back from them to see if i can ship it back to them to try re program it. Otherwise I’ll probably sell it and get a vortex with the stock maps.

I'm not sure selling it and replacing it with a stock one is the best decision. Keep running quality fuel and spend some time and work through the adjustments on the trim screws. Keep notes on the results of each adjustment and eventually you'll get there.
