Pitch will be the distance in mm from one thread to the next thread "on center" so to speak. Make sure you're being accurate, as pitches can vary by as little as 0.25mm. But usually it's 0.5mm increments. ie, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0

As mentioned by Aciddreamer, just put the calipers on the stem and that will be the thread size. For example, 14mm = M14. Say your thread pitch turns out to be 1.5... then your nut is a M14x1.5.
I know Kawi's parts description just called it a 24mm nut - which is obviously the outside hex size
