Compatible Engine Cases (2018 KTM 85sx)

I have a 2018 ktm 85sx with a cracked LEFT engine case(yes the chain broke).

I am wondering which years are compatible for this year? I know the bike changed significantly after 2017 so I am assuming I need to find 2018 or newer engine case.

Anyone have insight? Thanks.

Yup. 18+ KTM/HUSKY/GASGAS 85 cases are all that would work. That's a tough one. I checked my local ebay parts guy who buys new bikes and sells the parts but he didn't have anything at moment.....

Thanks for the info. I assumed that was the case. Next Question. Will a 2017 or older motor 'fit' in the 2018 frame with out modification?

I have an older engine sitting around....

I can't say for sure but I doubt without a decent amount of mods. Plus the 17-older engine was a dog in comparison. I know, something is better than nothing with parts as hard to find at moment.... I just did a top/bottom end rebuild on an 18 for a kid I help out and if I hadn't had parts left over from when my boy rode them it would've taken a lot longer. Some parts were impossible to find online..........

Looks like they are out now. Schaeffer's motorsports in PA says they have them 570-968-4336, same with Full throttle motorsports in IA, 712-366-8400.

Call and give them this part number - 47230000144

Full throttle is in my town. I’ll call them. But how on earth do you find who has them like this? 😏🤨 thanks!!

47230100144 isn't bringing anything up on my end, even in the Husky dealer site. 47230100044 shows available now though. So most places with them on backorder should be getting fulfilled within the next week or so. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
