So the bike will start first push on the button, then i get to the gate and it just cranks and wants to start, most times it will fire after i open the throttle a little bit. Today was not the case, started fine all morning then just didn’t want to go and i drained the battery. Swapped battery’s seemed to do the trick for a little bit then back to the same last race had to bump start it ugggh lame!!! 70 hours on the bike.. after the races we tried different spots with the throttle open and closed it slowly and we seemed to get it three different times. valves have been checked doing the top end but trying to make it through 2 races this next week.

Could it be throttle position is off, is this something easy?
Guy at the track thought could be a bad ground connection

Help please, spring creek pro nats week no time to bring the bike to my engine guy??

Sounds like your main problem is the TPS switch is more than likely set too lean... that with possibly a combination of tight valves (if you’re seeing an increase in hard starting as of late)... setting the TPS isn’t too complicated (there is plenty of useful videos on how to correctly do this) if you don’t have an outside power supply it can be done with the bike running at idle... Ktms work great at around 60-.62v

Change in line fuel filter.
Check Valves.
Check TPS.

I had same problem and it was electrical. Unprotected wire spade touching frame.
