I just purchased a 250 KTM exc and I am doing a fork seal replacement and when I pulled it apart it was missing the big spacer. Does anyone know why this would be removed?

When I look it up it has a spacer on the parts breakdown. The guy told me he got his suspension tuned before.

Somewhere around that timeframe WP started putting a third fork bushing in the forks. The idea was that the third bushing would help stabilize the fork and make it work better. Sadly the exact opposite happended and the forks weren’t very good

The fix was to remove the third bushing and the spacer.
Assuming you actually have a fork that should have had the third bushing then it was removed to make it work better.

Thank you, that was the answer I was hoping for! I'm assuming the suspension shop removed it when they tuned it.
