Hey guys. I have an RM125 that has been giving me some trouble lately. I just got finished chasing an electrical issue that turned out to be the stator. But in the process, I ended up replacing all electrical components (coil, cdi, pickup coil, wiring). Went to start the bike, started first kick and idled like a champ. I immediately knew something was wrong because this bike never idles like a champ unless it is loaded up (when the crank seal went bad and leaked oil into the bottom end, it idled great). If I give it any throttle, the rpm does not change and it starts bogging... too much throttle and it dies. Checked carb, messed with ignition timing, ran without air filter, tried a couple different spark plugs, none of which made any difference. I figured it might just be very loaded up with gas/oil in the bottom end because when the stator blew, I spent a good 20 min messing with it trying to start it and probably flooded the crap out of it. Tried rolling it down our steep long driveway and popping it into gear, hoping for something. Didn’t even sound like it was running, but when I pulled the clutch it it would return to idle. My two thoughts: either there is a pool of gas and oil sitting in the bottom end and the bike just can’t clean itself out... or there is still something wrong with the ignition system where maybe it won’t spark faster than idle speed? Idk a lot about electrical stuff. But everything is new and OEM Suzuki parts, and has correct ohm readings. Any thoughts? When the stator died, I had enough time to put a new coil in it and then I had to leave for college. Just returned a couple weeks ago because of the virus, so it has just been sitting. Sorry for the long read, wanted to be specific. Any advice would be much appreciated!
