Stripped threads

I badly stripped the threads for a screw that holds the bearing holder inside the cases and was wondering how i could fix the threads

If there is enough surface area to allow it, install a tine sert (sp?). Much better quality repair than a helicoil.

Im lookin for a more permanent fix than helicoil the time sert looks like it would work but its pricey

I've purchased them individually at the local Ace Hardware store. Have to have the correct size drill bits and taps though. Local machine shops can do them as well.
