Recently bought and ride 2003 KTM 200 EXC. We can't get the computer to turn on. Is it supposed to come on when the bike starts, is there a power buttom (there are three remote buttons on the left handle bar, none are labeled). We've tried a lot of combinations of pushing/holding buttons.

I question if it has or is getting power. Do these run off of an internal battery that somehow charges from the bike's electrical system? Where should I start with debugging?

Called my local dealership and the technician said he'd never seen one fail.

I know my bikes all have batteries in the computers, but they also turn on when the bike starts moving ('04 200, '06 250, '09 250). It doesn't work at all though if the battery is dead... always been somewhat of a mystery to me lol

Try changing the battery, but be sure to write down hours and miles (if you can get that computer to turn on) first, just in case it wipes all the old data. If I remember correctly, you have to swap the new battery quickly or it will delete all the old data.
