So I have a cylinder that has some carbon build up near the bottom (where the rings don't go) and I'd like to remove the glaze on the cylinder walls also. The cylinder has a nominal bore of 83mm, but the 83mm flex hone I've found on eBay is also listed as 3 1/4 inches, which is actually 82.55mm. The next size up I can find is 85mm but I think that is too large. What sort of tolerance on the sizing is required? Will the 3 1/4 inch (82.55mm) flex hone still do a decent job on this cylinder of 83mm bore?
