Has anyone cut down a FMF spark arrestor for a YZ125? I want it to be a little shorter then what it is but was wondering how to go about it with the powercore that FMF uses.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

How do the internals differ from a regular silencer? Or is it just a spark arresting insert at the endcap?

I have cut down several silencers before. However much comes off the outer, take that much off the perforated core. Some where more difficult than others but none too hard. Just dive in, don't be afraid!

We dyno a stock kx125 with stock muffler, PC shorty and PC standard back in 01 to see what the advantages were. stock pipe with muffler, the standard length PC was best also paired with PC works pipe the standard length PC was best. The Shorty sounded loud as f%^k and looked cool though! maybe a little advantage for sx having shorter.. just a bit of info you may or may not be interested in. It was good to try all these things. Suprisingly the standard muffler was very close and quiet.
