Hi

I´m thinking about powdercoating my kx450f -12 frame and swingarm black but im wondering for how long it will look good?

Will it last a season or will it start to chip and scratch of after half the season?

Is it harder to keep clean?

What are your experiences with powdercoated frames?

My KTM frame wears from my boots but that's about it. In person you can see the wear after just 50 hours. In photos it's hard to tell.

Chipping shouldn't really be an issue. Just look to the KTM and other steel frame bikes of yesteryear for what it will look like when worn.

a wrinkle powder coat is your best option if you are into that kind of look. In my experience it holds up a LOT better than the glossy powder and it won't show imperfections.

Boot wear you'll get the first hour..
Otherwise it holds up great.

heres my 13 kawi from last year(sold it now) but this was after about 10 hours.. and unfortuantly she was blown up after them 10 in this photo :'(

my suggestion would be to get grip tape for where your boots rub your frame.. other than that youll be set!
