I am about to buy a camera to get into shooting mainly mx, and possibly some landscape. I have 3 different options Im looking at, and need to know which will be thevbest decision. I am new at shooting, and am not looking to go professional, just want some great shots of MX to look at, so if one of these packages below isn`t a huge advantage for me, then I will probably go the cheaper route and get the one with less accessories. let me know! tthanks!

Nikon D40 With accessories: $758

The D60 has higher resolution on the sensor (10 mpixels vs 6). It's obviously more expensive. The package with the D60 only has the "standard" 18-55mm lens. For shooting MX you're going to want the 70-300.

Personally I won't buy from eBay. I also won't use an online retailer that isn't one I recognize as having been a legitimate store that others like buying from.

I use a D50, and haven't really missed the extra 4 mpixels you'd get with a D60. I'm not doing professional photography either, though I have printed my pictures for use on trailers and posters, and they hold up fine for those applications.

I bought from Amazon. It worked out well and got the same as all the deals on Ebay. I wanted to avoid the sales tax.

I wish I could find a nice D50 or D70 as a back up.
