Global warming? Vancouver. They are going to be trucking in snow from higher elevation.

Whistler was a foolish choice. First off, Canada there isnt cold. It can be, but not really.
The ocean is a great big heater(and air conditioner in the summer). It's too close to the coast.
On top of that, it's not very high in elevation, and it could be raining during the whole thing and be completely brown.

They cant really truck in snow, unless they want to truck it a Loooooooooooong way, through twisty roads.

They should have chosen a resort more inland, like Banff, or Golden, or whereever.

I say move that deal back to Squaw, Heavenly, Kirkwood, or Mammoth. Hell, they just got 8 feet of snow in 5 days, and I still dont think they are at average snowfall for this time of year yet.
(That didnt get close to a storm record)

You guys are nuts? Whistler has a lot of snow right now. Shit, they have a thicker base than Kirkwood, Squaw, Heavenly and Mammoth.

I think one of the most beautiful things in the entire world is being at the top of K22 at Squaw, and looking down at Lake Tahoe.

The problem with Whistler is the elevation. It's basically sea level, and pretty much right by the Pacific. Every time I've been there you had to walk onto the first lift, ride up to mid level, then put your skis on standing on a carpet and ride up to ski. There was decent snow up top, then about 100 feet short of the midlevel lifts the snow ran out and you skiied a slush/ice track to get back on the lift. I've been there where it was snowing on top, and halfway down it turned to rain.

Whistler seems to be fine. If they need to they can move venues higher up the mountain to find snow. It's the local mountains right on the edge of the city that are lacking the white stuff.

I think there is an echo of sorts.

Winter Olypics need more firm ass-cheeks busting through the seams of lycra, IMO.
