I suck at it but enjoy going.

I normally stay at chair 3 or 7 on the Alyeska slopes cause they are the easiest.

Chair 3 & 7 have some rated "Blue Square" difficulty areas and I was hitting those pretty good so got cocky.

The day went in to night and I noticed on the slope map there were some "Blue Star" trails (easier than blue squares) from the top of the mountain.

I went to the top on the worst chair you could go on counting on this easy trail down.

I got to the top and freaked. The top of the mountain looked like a dome. You couldn't see shit beyond what was 20 yards in front of you.

I asked one of the medic dudes who stay on stand-by up there where the "easy trail" was that I was looking for.
He informs me that it is in the 'bowl' and not lit up at night and therefore closed.

He informs me that there are several blue square trails I can take and might make it down okay. Thanks for that pep talk buddy!

Looking down the mountain I can see cars on the highway below and they look like ants with head lights.
No one up here is less than an expert ski-person except for me.

I head down the hill and immediately get my ass kicked in some high moguls and very steep inclines.

One particular section had me on my ass going about 20 MPH with my left ski in my hand and not real sure if I was going to ever stop.

Finally made it down and can say that I did ski about 90% of the Expert and Intermediate slopes that I hit (the rest I skidded on my ass).

Fun trip but glad to be home now.

I'm sure Super Rat will love roasting my balls on this.

Sounds like fun. I'm in Utah right now having a ball. Not much fresh snow, so we have been hiking to get to it. I'm getting far too used to this fresh mountain air. Not looking forward to going back to work after a full week off.

We seem to hear more about your daughter and less about you these days.

Warm beer gargles and a fresh shave of your head will get you back on center.
