Watching on VH1 classic right now. What a concert this must have been to be at.

Here is Robbie Robertson showing Clapton a thing or two. Even Clapton was smiling, going damn this guy is badass.

That is in the original footage. It got edited out later on.


Best concert dvd ever as far as I'm concerned. The boxed set of cd's is really good as well. A ton of stuff was left off the original release.

What I never really got about that flick - was that "THE BAND" was not really a BIG deal

in rock 'n roll UNTIL that movie (signaling their break-up ) came out.

I never quite figured that all out.

Somebody explain....

And yeah, I dig Robbie R and the rest of the gang...

They were a big deal with other musicians. They weren't into making big hits, and trying to be popular. They were Bob Dylan's backing band for a few tours he did. Eric Clapton even wanted to join them. They're from Canada, and I believe they were huge up there. Needless to say they are great musicians.

not just a few tours- the first when he went electric. That's was a big deal back then
